Issue with thinstation.hosts

Eric Trezel
Hi

I'm trying multiple configurations for clients. I red and applied the doc :
https://github.com/Thinstation/thinstation/wiki/Configuration#configuration-files-and-their-scope
I got a thinstation.conf.IPadress file working, so I think general configuration is OK.
But when I try to use thinstation.conf-group file, it doesn't work at all.

I wrote a thinstation.hosts file, which contains only 1 line (for now) :
fst-o-o-term203 001E8C1FFEA6    testXterm               # groupe de test

I have a thinstation.conf-testXterm file, which is OK (it works when I name it thinstation.conf.IPadress).

But at boot, I can see a line : ERROR : testXterm not found !
This error happens, whenever there is thinstation.conf-testXterm file or not.

Did I miss something ?

Thanks for your help

E.T.

I think the basedir. Check your server logs, and make sure it's getting files from the same place your putting them.

Re: Issue with thinstation.hosts

Eric Trezel

I don't think so :

As I told in my first message, if I name the file : thinstation.conf-IPadress, it works.

If I rename that same file, at the same place : thinstation.conf-testXterm, conf is not applied.

The file thinstation.conf.network, which is in the same directory, is red and applied in both cases

Really weird, isn't it ;-)

Re: Issue with thinstation.hosts

Eric Trezel

Hi,

A look at tftpd logs did it : I was making a mistake in file naming :

I named the file thinstation.conf-testXterm, but it has to be thinstation.conf.group-testXterm

It was at the right place, but with a bad name.

Thanks for the idea about tftpd logs.

If it can help someone : to get logs with tftpd-hpa (on debian), you have to add the -v option in /etc/default/tftpd-hpa (and restart service). The more v you add (-v, -vv, -vvv...), the more logs you get. A lonely one gives you the requests (which is sufficient in that case). If you don't do this, you won't have no logs (/var/log/daemon/.log).

Thanks for your work

E.T.
