New ThinStation 6.1

Don Cupp
Reading out to all those that have some coding chops.

I have pushed 6.1-Unstable to github.
It is very very alpha.
Do not expect it to work right away.

Major concepts desired.
64 bit
Drop gtk v1
Reduce gtk v2
Enable gtk v3
Somehow integrate systemd for init.

Send PR's, not bitches, as usual.

Best Regards,

Re: New ThinStation 6.1

bonne

Wanted to try it out (yup, I know it is alpha), and right after running ./setup-chroot, I get:

chroot: failed to run command ‘/ts/TS_ENV’: Exec format error

How to get past this?

Regards, Lars.

Yeah – on the existing ThinStation 5. As I remember it, it is 64 bit.

6.1 is not?

Regards, Lars.

Re: New ThinStation 6.1

Don Cupp
Opposite actually. All TS versions prior to 6.1 were 32 bit. 5.5. had an optional 64 bit kernel, but it was not default.

Re: New ThinStation 6.1

Don Cupp
So, as it turns out, everything is compiled to work on x86_64 kernels, version 3.12 and above. 3.10 is just a bit too old. Once I get DevStation for 6.1 up, it will be less critical.
