Touch screen issue

Eric Trezel
Hi,

I'm trying to use thinstation to build a kiosk PC with a touch screen
(ELO touch).

I first booted on a 'build --allmodules' kernel, and the touch screen
worked fine.

I used hwlister to get modules and packages .list files, add them to
thinstation (machine directory, and add a line in build.conf, then build
a new kernel).

When I boot on this new kernel, though, touchscreen doesn't work.

I looked at module.list and found an 'hid-multitouch' module, which I
suspect to be one of those that make it work.

But no hid-multitouch in lsmod, and when I tried 'modprobe
hid-multitouch', I got :

modprobe: FATAL: Module hid-multitouch not found.

Has anyone an idea about the reason for this issue, and/or a way to fix it ?

Thanks

E.T.

Re: Touch screen issue

Don Cupp
If the module is in modules.list of a hardware profile, and that hardware profile is in your build.conf, then the there should be a copy line for the module somewhere in the build output. The module is available in the standard kernels, so that shouldn't be an issue.

I hope when you say kernel you mean image, and not actually compiling your own kernel.

Re: Touch screen issue

Eric Trezel
Thank you :

You gave me the idea to redirect the build command output in a file, so I just had error messages on stdout (much easier !). And I got it :

cat: ./machine/fst-WYSE-touch/module.list: No such file or directoryI made everything like it had too...

Thats what happens when you call the file "modules.list" instead of "module.list"

Thanks for your help debugging... me ;-)

Regards

E.T.
