--allmodules build ISO not booting

Christof Böckler-2
Hi all,

I just checked out 5.5-Stable and tried to create a new machine profile.
Following the wiki
(https://github.com/Thinstation/thinstation/wiki/Machine-profiles#how-do-i-create-a-new-machine-profile)
I did a
build with all modules. When I boot the ISO file in VirtualBox it does
not load the kernel (see attachment).

This does not happen with a regular (non-allmodules) built ISO.

Can anyone confirm this error? Or maybe the wiki is wrong?

Greetings
Christof

Re: --allmodules build ISO not booting

edwhardo

this happened to me when my initrd was truncated. I was using a different build server (not devstation) and the scp didn't finish.

check size or use md5sum

Hi Trenta sis,

my VM had only 256 MiB of RAM when I originally tried it. This error
disappeared after I increased my RAM to 512 MiB. Hopefully nobody wants
to work on “thin” clients with less than 512 MiB of RAM.

Thanks!

Christof

Re: --allmodules build ISO not booting

Don Cupp
Usually only your first build will have allmodules, subsequent builds should consume less mem.
