nfs mount from thinstation fails :: Protocol not supported

mayak-cq
hi all,

happy new year

i'm new the list and have recently installed a fresh thinstation 5.1 from git on a fedora core 17 i686 build host.

i set my build.conf options (to include nfs) and have successfully booted a pxe workstation on thinstation.

i have network connectivity from the thinstation host, however, i cannot mount a nfs share -- it bombs with:

failed: Protocol not supported

other linux boxes can mount the indicated nfs share without error.

any suggestions on how to solve this?

many thanks

m

Re: nfs mount from thinstation fails :: Protocol not supported

Don Cupp
You need to include the module for the particular nfs you are using like

module nfsv3
or
module nfsv2

hi don,

thanks so much for your rapid response ...

i tried adding new lines to build.conf and get this:

Module 3.6.5TS: vfat
Module 3.6.5TS: ext4
Module 3.6.5TS: nfs
Module 3.6.5TS: nfs3
cp: missing destination file operand after './tmp-tree/lib/modules/3.6.5TS/nfs3.ko'
Try 'cp --help' for more information.
Module 3.6.5TS: nfs4
cp: missing destination file operand after './tmp-tree/lib/modules/3.6.5TS/nfs4.ko'
Try 'cp --help' for more information.
Module 3.6.5TS: cifs
Module 3.6.5TS: squashfs

its looks like nfs in this kernel is multi-versioned

thanks a million

Re: nfs mount from thinstation fails :: Protocol not supported

Don Cupp
You need the v in nfsv3. nfs3 won't work.
